HBS Americas HUG 2019
The Honeywell Software Center and Honeywell User Experience teams stretched well out of their comfort zone to create our new EBI R600 and DVM R700 demonstration package just in time for HBS Americas HUG. This included the new Airport and Hospital vertical demos that absolutely amazed our customers at HUG. The customer dwell time at the Airport and Hospital demonstrations stretched from the normal 10 to 15 minute range to 60 to 120 minutes.
INNOVATION WORKSHOPS
Various innovation workshops focussed on different industries are run by the Honeywell User Experience team at the end of the Expo. Attendees vote on a “topic/problem to be solved” of their choice.
They are then diverted into groups of 8 - 16. Each group are allocated two UX facilitators supported by marketing and sales staff.
The session are a maximum length of 1 hour.
Innovation Workshops: Structure
1. Establishing problem statements - making sure we are solving the correct problem by asking Why and How.
2. Once a few problem statements have been defined participants select the problems they want to explore
3. Possible solutions are provided as a guideline e.g. Data and video analytics
4. Participants are encouraged to complete every square on the creative matrix within a 20min timeframe
5. Participants then vote with monopoly money for the ideas they like best
6. The winning idea gets to be productised. Participants create a poster (template supplied)
7. The UX designers for each group take the artefacts, produce a design
8. A designer from each industry group presents their group idea back to the conference the next morning.
9. These ideas are taken by business and marketing channels, prioritised and then marked for development the next year.
